Educators will contact parents when a student develops an illness during the school hours. Parents are expected to pick up the student immediately. In certain cases students must be removed from the class room, and will be supervised in the first aid room, at the schools office.

Students who have communicable diseases may not attend Les Petits Pieds Preschool. Parents are expected to inform the educators immediately. In certain cases the educators will communicate concerns regarding potential exposure to the other student’s parents. Educators and board members will work together to initiate additional class room cleaning as required.

Students can return to the classroom when they are no longer a risk, symptom free for 24 hours or a Doctor’s note indicates that the student is not contagious.

Educator

In cases where an educator is contagious or too ill to teach in the classroom, he/she will contact the principle, with as much notice as possible.

The principle will then make arrangements for a substitute or parent volunteer. In all cases the substitute or parent volunteer must have a Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector search on file.

In the rare instance where a substitute can’t be found, the class may be cancelled. The Board of Administration will attempt to contact each parent with as much notice as possible.
