We love our teachers, they are all francophone and came from various backgrounds before becoming educators. We know when you leave your child in their hands, the experience will be warm, loving and educational for your child.
Madame Mélina (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
A mother of three, my two oldest are enrolled at École francophone d’Airdrie (EFA) and my youngest at Les Petits Pieds. I possess a great background in Early childhood education. I received my professional training in Early Childhood Education at Cégep de Sherbrooke, which I completed in 2003. Then, until 2016, I lived in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Up there, I worked as an educator and administrative assistant at the CPE Les Petits Nanooks and I was part of the team that put in place the francization program for 4-year-olds. I also worked as a student support assistant at École des Trois-Soleils, the only French First language school in the territory. Greatly involved in the francophone cultural and artistic community, I co-founded the Théâtre Uiviit and the Ligue d’improvisation francophone du Nunavut.
In Airdrie since August 2016, I volunteer for many school activities and serve on the school council at EFA. With 15 years of experience in Early childhood education, I begin my second year in Les Petits Pieds Preschool’s team.
Deeply passionate and dedicated about my work and life in general, I truly believe that learning through play is essential for children’s blooming and development. It’s such a pleasure and gratifying for me to accompany each child I am working with throughout their journey towards the Francophone school and to see stars in their eyes when they discover something. My strong teamwork skills and artistic talents enhance my capacity to create a positive learning environment for children, their families and my colleagues. With me, life is exciting at Les Petits Pieds!
